Lately I have found comfort in knowing that the Holy Spirit intercedes for us. I’m glad He does, because I can’t find the right words to pray as of late.
With all the atrocities happening around the world today, I ask God to comfort those who mourn, but the words sound so trite to my ears. They just aren’t enough, and I can’t find any words that are.
I especially am encouraged that the Holy Spirit intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words, because some circumstances are too deep for words. Fortunately, God is able to meet us in those circumstances. He is able to minister to the one who is suffering.
Like Corrie Ten Boom once said, “No pit is so deep that He is not deeper still.”
He has not abandoned anyone. He is not operating out of plan B. He knows His purposes and will accomplish them according to His will and for His glory. And He will comfort all who look to Him and be their strength.
These are the things I need to remember as I pray, and to know that the Spirit’s intercession is perfect and never falls short where my words often do.

Amen 🙏🏽. Like you, Colleen, I too have been at a loss for words in how to pray in such circumstances. I often ask God to just help. I do not have to define what exactly he has to do when it feels so overwhelming. The spirit will indeed interceded. What a comfort and a privilege to hold onto at such times.
